Hello, lovely friends of Rosie’s Corner! This past weekend was extra special as we celebrated Samuel’s first birthday. With a heart full of love and a home filled with joy, we wanted to create a morning that was just as magical as he is. Inspired by the timeless charm of Winnie the Pooh, we put together the sweetest pancake breakfast, adorned with the most darling characters from the Hundred Acre Wood.
A Special Morning:
Knowing that the day would be busy with party preparations, I wanted to carve out a quiet, intimate moment just for Samuel and us. We set up a cozy breakfast nook, complete with a whimsical Winnie the Pooh theme. As soon as Samuel saw the adorable characters and smelled the freshly made pancakes, his face lit up with pure delight.
The Joy of Pancakes:
We made fluffy pancakes shaped like Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, and Piglet, which Samuel couldn’t wait to dig into. His giggles and smiles were the highlight of the morning. As we shared this precious time together, I couldn’t help but think of Pooh’s wise words: “Sometimes the smallest things take up the most space in your heart.” Watching Samuel enjoy his breakfast was one of those moments that I will treasure forever.

A very simple yet magical first birthday photoshoot right at home … you don’t have to hire a professional photographer or spend a lot of money to capture beautiful moments and make ever lasting memories🎈 Sami was so comfy and happy in our own backroad, having mom and dad snapping some videos & pictures of him… I don’t think his birthday photos would have been as cute in a more “professional” setting!

We celebrated Samuel‘s first birthday this weekend, and I wanted us to have a very special morning together… we put together this magical pancake breakfast with the most darling Winnie the Pooh characters… I knew that later in the day we were going to be quite busy throwing his birthday party so I wanted to set aside this time with him where we could soak it all in…He was the happiest eating his pancakes and we were the happiest watching him be. As Winnie the Pooh once said.. “Sometimes the smallest things take up the most space in your heart” .. ❤️
So here is a little advice for you… inevitably when you host a party.. you are going to be running around and attending to your guests .. everyone will have their phones out.. and your baby will probably be exhausted and overstimulated.. so why not setting aside some time that is just for him and you? Where you can watch him all you want and soak it all in without interruptions.. chances are he’ll probably enjoy you more that way too!
I can’t tell you how grateful I am that we took the time to do this in the morning, because following breakfast we were so busy setting up for the party that afternoon… don’t spend the whole day planning for something instead of actually spending the day with that special person!

If you’re planning a birthday party for your little one, here’s a piece of advice from our experience: Set aside some special time just for you and your child before the hustle and bustle of the party begins. Hosting a party means you’ll be busy attending to guests and making sure everything runs smoothly, and your baby might feel overwhelmed with all the attention and activity.
Creating Moments that Matter:
By dedicating a quiet morning to just the two of you, you can soak in every precious moment without interruptions. It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect with your child and create lasting memories. Trust me, your little one will cherish this time with you just as much as you do.
I am incredibly grateful that we took this time to celebrate Samuel’s first birthday morning in such a meaningful way. Following our pancake breakfast, the day quickly filled with the joyful chaos of party preparations and celebrations. But having that serene, magical moment with Samuel at the start of the day made all the difference.
